Kylan collection

This collection was inspired by the Forest Spirit creature from Hayao Miyazaki’s film, Princess Mononoke. The two looks in the collection feature 3D Printed antler sculptures that exaggerate the body and flow along the wearer’s form.

This first look is composed of a hand-dyed lace gown with soft multi-tier ruffles contrasting with sharp lunged horns poised to attack.

Process

I used Zbrush sculpt the 3D pieces for both looks. The armor-like structures were best created in a program that allowed for clay-like molding to achieve organic and intricate details. Each 3D model was sliced into separate pieces and 3D Printed with PLA filament at Voodoo Manufacturing in Brooklyn, NY. After assembly, both sculptures were finished with copper leafing and then distressed to give a natural aged look.

Antler Collar

Look Two of the Kylan Collection continues the same antler structure but pairs it with a bronze faux leather mini dress. This combination of a more modern silhouette and a simplified antler collar creates a secondary outfit that is more contemporary yet still compliments the first.

Both looks in this collection debuted at the Voxelworld 3D Printed fashion show in Dusseldorf, Germany.
